The Chef

Cooking is not a service here.
It is the evening itself.

Martin Fassi has cooked since childhood, shaped first by his grandmother’s techniques and then trained formally at Le Nôtre. Sous chef in Martha’s Vineyard. Head chef at upscale restaurants in Houston, and executive head chef at one of them today. Under his own name, he cooks for one table at a time.

What that means for you: no fixed menu, no set package, no rushed turn. A conversation first, a proposal second, and then an evening built end to end — sourcing, cooking, plating, service, and a kitchen returned spotless.

How It Works

Four steps, no friction

01

Describe the evening

Date, guest count, the occasion, how you like to eat. A short form or a phone call.

02

Receive a menu

A written proposal — courses, staffing, a fixed price. Revise it until it is right.

03

He handles everything

Sourcing, prep, cooking in your kitchen, plated service, and full cleanup.

04

You sit down

That is the entire job. Pour the wine and stay at your own table.

“Everything felt thoughtful, personal, and beautifully executed. The food was outstanding, and our guests are still talking about the evening.”

FAQ

Private chef in Houston — common questions

How much does a private chef cost in Houston?

Plated dinners start at $200 a guest for three courses and $225 for four. Catering and buffet service starts at $175 a guest, or $125 for fifty guests and up. Servers and kitchen staff are included when the event needs them, and there is no minimum guest count. Ingredients are what move a quote beyond those figures — send your date and guest count and you will have a written, fixed price before anything is confirmed.

What does a private chef experience include?

Menu design and consultation, sourcing and shopping, all cooking in your kitchen, plated table service, and a kitchen left as clean as it was found. Chef Fassi arrives with everything needed, cooks on site, and serves each course at the table.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to four weeks is comfortable for a dinner party; six to twelve months for weddings and large events. Holidays and Saturday evenings in spring and fall book earliest. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible — call and ask.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?

Always. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, pescatarian, keto and allergy-specific menus are written from scratch rather than adapted. Halal is arranged on request and has its own page. Say so at the inquiry stage and the menu is built around it.

What areas of Houston do you serve?

River Oaks, Memorial, Tanglewood, West University, Montrose, Bellaire, The Heights, Hunters Creek, Piney Point, Sugar Land, Katy, Cypress, The Woodlands, Pearland, Galveston and Downtown Houston, plus the wider Greater Houston area. Travel beyond the metro is arranged on request.
